Selvin Gnanakkan, OD, MBA

Dr. Selvin Gnanakkan, OD, MBA, developed an interest in Optometry during high school while learning about the intricate connections between the brain and eyes. He continued to learn more about the physiology and circuitry of the eyes and brain during his studies at the University of Maryland, then spent a year at the UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles.

At the UCLA School of Medicine, Dr. Gnanakkan had the opportunity to work with a team of doctors researching and conducting research projects on neuro-inflammatory modulators in patients with neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Gnanakkan published several abstracts during this period and learned more about the eye-brain connection. He then pursued his optometric studies at Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University.

Dr. Gnanakkan is excited to be providing eye care in Tempe, AZ and practices with a focus on cornea, glaucoma & primary eye care.
